Kids do not eat easily but still mothers keep trying their best. You need to be innovative but at the same time you should not compromise on the nutritional value. These recipes will give you some great ideas to cook for your toddler-

Quick Peas Soup

Peas (1 cup)
Medium Onion (sliced)
Small carrot ( sliced)
Cumin Powder ( 1-2 pinches)
Salt (1 pinch)
1 tbsp olive oil
Fresh cilantro leaves (finely chopped)

Method Of Preparation-

Place a pan on low flame and spray olive oil. Add onion & carrots and saute until they turn soft.
Now add fresh shelled peas in the pan and let it cook for a while. Sprinkle a pinch of salt.
Add one cup water and let it boil. Transfer ingredients in a blender and blender until puree is formed. Sprinkle cumin powder & garnish with fresh chopped cilantro leaves.
Serve lukewarm to your kid.

French Toast Recipe

1 slice of brown bread
1tbsp of milk
A pinch of cinnamon powder
1 egg
Sweet tomato sauce
1 tsp. butter/ghee

Method of Preparation:-

Whisk the egg and add cinnamon and milk to it and whisk again. Now dip the bread slice into the egg-mixture and coat it well.
Heat a pan on medium heat and add a little butter/ghee to it.
Add bread slice to the pan, and flip when it turns brown on one side. Let the bread turn golden on the other side as well.
Take it out and cut it into pieces and add some tomato ketchup in it.
Serve the French toast to your toddler when it has cooled down.

Bread And Banana Recipe For Toddler

1 or 2 sliced brown bread or white bread
Half banana mashed
Full cream/low fat milk
2tsp all purpose flour(maida)
Oil /ghee/butter for frying

Method of Preparation-

Puree banana and add milk and all purpose flour in it

Cut the corners of the bread and immerse it into the banana milk puree.

Cut one bread into four pieces so that it is easy to flip and fry it in a non stick pan.

Broccoli and Cheese Tikkis

Olive oil- 1 tsp.
Finely chopped onions- 1/4 cup
ginger-garlic paste- 1 tsp.
Finely chopped broccoli- 1/2 tsp.
salt to taste
Boiled and grated potatoes- 1/2 cup
Grated mozzrella cheese- 2 tbsp.
Bread crumbs- 1/4 cup
Olive oil for cooking

Method of Preparation-

Heat oil in a pan and add onion, ginger-garlic paste and cook for 2 minutes. Then add in broccoli and salt and saute again. When broccoli is cooked turn off the flame and add in grated potatoes and cheese. Let the mixture cool down and divide into 4 portions. Make flat and round tikkis. Coat these with bread crumbs and shallow fry till they turn golden brown. Protein tikkis are ready.

Chocolate Pancakes For Toddlers

1 cup all-purpose flour
2 tablespoons white sugar
2 teaspoons baking powder
1 teaspoon salt
2-3 tsp cocoa powder
1 egg, beaten
1 cup milk
2 tablespoons vegetable oil or 2tbsp butter

Method of Preparation-

In a large bowl, mix flour, sugar, baking powder, cocoa powder and salt. Make a well in the center, and pour in milk, egg and oil. Mix until smooth.
Heat a lightly oiled griddle or frying pan over medium high heat. Pour or scoop the batter onto the griddle, using approximately 1/4 cup for each pancake. Brown on both sides.

Easy & Quick Snack From Beaten Rice for Toddlers

Add a tea spoon of ghee in a pan. When the ghee is hot, add sesame seeds, jeera seeds, garlic pieces, curry leaves, turmeric powder, bengal gram, groundnuts, cashew pieces, raisins, chat masala or dried mango powder.
Add any additional/optional ingredients that you think might make the whole thing interesting.
Saute all of these for a couple of minutes.
Now add poha to the hot pan. Add salt and mix well.
Switch off the flame.
Now, add sugar and mix well again.

Quick Vermicelli Jave Recipe For Toddlers

1 cup Vermicelli

1/2 tomato (chopped)

1/2 medium sized potato (peeled & cut)

Handful of Peas (optional)

1/2 tablespoon oil

1 green chilli (chopped & optional)

1/4 tablespoon cumin seeds

2 tablespoon ghee (for roasting vermicelli )

Salt (as per taste)

2 cups water

Method of Preparation-

First of all take a non-stick kadai and put ghee in it. Then add vermicelli into it and roast it properly until it turns golden brown. Throughout roasting constantly stir the vermicelli so that all of them get equally & properly roasted.
When the vermicelli turns out to be as desired then keep it aside and let it cool.
Now take the kadai and pour in the required amount of oil in it.(You can skip oil if cooking in non stick pan) Put cumin seeds and let it sputter. Add green chillies, peas, potato & tomatoes and stir it properly to let them absorb the oil.
Add salt and turmeric to the mixture and keep stirring and then 2 – 3 cups of water .It takes a while for the potatoes to get cooked.Once cooked add vermicelli to it and let all the ingredients mix with the vermicelli.You might need to add more water for the vermicelli to get properly cooked.
Bring the mixture to a boil and cover the lid for 10 minutes. Check in between so that it doesn’t stick. Turn the flame off and transfer the dish in a serving bowl. You may use coriander leaves for garnishing and serve it.

Rice Balls Recipe

100 gm boiled rice
Veggies such as carrots and beans or whichever your child is fond of
Cheese
Salt and black pepper

Method of Preparation-

Pressure cook rice and add all veggies in it
When cooked (they should be little more cooked than your usual rice)
When cooled add cheese in it.I use amul cheese slices you can use any cheese of your child’s liking.
Make small balls and you are done.

Besan Cheela

Add grated cauliflower, carrots, Indian cheese(paneer) or any other vegetable in the gram flour (besan). Mix it with water and make pan cake consistency. Add salt and black pepper.You can add chopped coriander as well to increase veggie content.
Put the non-stick pan on the stove and heat a tea spoon of oil on it.
Lower down the flame to medium and pour in 1/2 tsp of batter and make small round pan cakes. Now pour a drop of oil at the corners of the cheela and flip it. Cheela is ready when cooked from both the sides.

Mango And Banana Smoothie Recipe For Toddler

1 cup mango slices (frozen)
1 cup plain yogurt
1 tablespoon honey

Method of Preparation-

All you need to do is to place mango, banana, honey & yogurt in the blender.Blend it thoroughly until it becomes smooth and pour in your child’s favorite glass or mug and serve it.
