5 Egg Recipes For Toddlers
Eggs are super foods as they contain many essential nutrients. They are full of protein, folate, vitamin D, iron, zinc, selenium and DHA. Eggs boost immunity and provide energy to kids. Besides giving simple boiled eggs to kids, you can try a few new recipes.
These recipes are easy and will be liked by your toddler-
Cheese Omelette
Ingredients
- 2 Eggs
- 3 tbsp. Milk
- 1/2 cup grated Cheese
- 2 chopped Green Chilies
- 1 tsp White Pepper
- 1 tbsp. Butter
- Salt to taste
Recipe
- Take egg contents, salt, pepper and chili in a bowl and beat well.
- Heat butter in a pan and pour the egg mixture into it.
- Spread it evenly and top with grated cheese.
- Let it cook and then fold into half.
Cheese omelette is ready.
Egg Paratha
For the dough
- 2 cups whole wheat flour/all purpose flour
- 1 cup water
- 2 tsp ghee
- salt to taste
For the egg mixture
- 3 eggs
- 1 onion, chopped finely
- 1 green chili, chopped finely
- 2 tbsp chopped cilantro
- ½ inch ginger, chopped finely
- salt to taste
- ghee
Recipe
- Knead a soft dough with water.
- Beat all ingredients of egg mixture except ghee in a bowl.
- Make layered parathas as you cook normally.
- When paratha is half-cooked, pour 5 tbsp.egg mixture on it and let it cook.
- Drizzle a little ghee over it. Flip the paratha once the mixture is set.
- Cook it from the egg side till it turns brown.
- Egg paratha is ready.
Scrambled Eggs with Spinach
Ingredients
- 2 eggs
- 1 tsp oil
- 2 tbsp finely chopped onion
- 1/2 cup spinach
- 2 tbsp. yogurt
Recipe
- Beat eggs with yogurt and spinach.
- Heat oil in a pan saute onions in it.
- Pour the egg mixture into the pan and let it set for 20 seconds.
- Then stir it and fold. Let it set again for 10 seconds.
- Repeat till the eggs look soft and fluffy.
Egg Pakoras
Ingredients
- 4 hard boiled eggs
- 3 tbsp Gram flour
- Red Chili powder to taste
- Little Black pepper powder
- Salt to taste
- Oil to fry
Recipe
- Peel and cut eggs into halves.
- In a bowl, mix gram flour, red chili powder, salt and pepper with water to make a thick paste.
- Heat oil in a heavy bottom kadhai or pan.
- Dip and coat every egg piece with the batter and drop in the oil.
- Fry till they turn golden brown and take out.
Serve with tomato ketchup.
Sweet Potato Tortilla
Ingredients
- 3 eggs
- 2 tbsp oil
- 1/2 small onion, sliced
- 1 boiled sweet potato, cut into thin slices
- salt to taste
Recipe
- Beat eggs with salt and keep aside
- Heat oil in a pan saute onion in it.
- Add in the sweet potato slices and stir well.
- Pour the egg mixture over the sweet potato and onion in the pan.
- Cover and cook on low flame for 20-30 minutes.
- When the mixture looks set, loosen the edges with a knife and turn the tortilla onto a plate.
- Then place it in pan again and cook from the other side for 10 minutes.
Take it out and serve to your toddler when the tortilla cools down a little.
