Protein is an integral part of diet. It is the building block of body and is essential for healthy muscles and bones. Protein also boosts immunity and protects kids from infections.

But not every protein rich food appeals to toddlers. The taste of lentils and beans may not be loved or the texture of meat is not welcomed by many kids. But every determined mom will find a way around to infuse protein in their little one’s diet. There are many ways to prepare protein rich food that is yummy too. You just need to be a little creative with simple ingredients and here is how you can go about it-

Egg Sandwich

Egg is a delicious store-house of protein. Besides it also supplements vitamins A and D. Boil an egg, and crumble it. Add a little mayonnaise and your filling is ready. Chill it and then stuff it between two slices of brown bread. The yummiest and quickest egg sandwich with loads of protein is ready.

Broccoli and Cheese Tikkis

  • Olive oil- 1 tsp.
  • Finely chopped onions- 1/4 cup
  • ginger-garlic paste- 1 tsp.
  • Finely chopped broccoli- 1/2 tsp.
  • salt to taste
  • Boiled and grated potatoes- 1/2 cup
  • Grated mozzrella cheese- 2 tbsp.
  • Bread crumbs- 1/4 cup
  • Olive oil for cooking

Heat oil in a pan and add onion, ginger-garlic paste and cook for 2 minutes. Then add in broccoli and salt and saute again. When broccoli is cooked turn off the flame and add in grated potatoes and cheese. Let the mixture cool down and divide into 4 portions. Make flat and round tikkis. Coat these with bread crumbs and shallow fry till they turn golden brown. Protein tikkis are ready.

Tortillas with Chicken/beans

Place some tortilla chips on a microwave safe dish and fill each of them with tiny pieces of chicken or beans. Top with some grated cheese and microwave till the cheese melts. Finally add piecs of tomatoes and a little ketchup to each chip. Done!

Pumpkin Seeds Balls

  • pumpkin seeds- 1/2 cup
  • coconut flour- 1/2 cup
  • hemp seeds- 1/3 cup
  • sunflower seeds- 1/4 cup
  • dates- 1.5 cup
  • cocoa powder- 3 tbsp.
  • chocolate protein powder- 2 tbsp.
  • vanilla extract- 1 tsp
  • Salt to taste

Take all the seeds and coconut flour and grind them in a food processor. Add dates and blend a little again. Toss in the rest of the ingredients and blend well. Make tiny balls with the mixture and serve the yummy protein dessert to your toddler.

Waffles With Peanut Butter

Everyone loves waffles and so do toddlers. Take a whole-wheat waffle and apply peanut butter on it. Decorate it with fruit slices and cottage cheese. How simple but yummy and again protein-aceous.
