Welcoming a little guest to your home is a great joy.  Babies are something really.  They turn your world upside down and inside out but we just can’t do without them.  The entire process is one that has to be thought out very carefully and in a detailed manner.  Changes have to be made not only in your personality but in your lifestlye.

Somethings need to be minused and some things have to be added.  It is a good idea to compile a Shopping List for a Newborn Baby.  You will be amazed at the things needed to prepare for this amazing little person.

Pregnancy and Labour Checklist






Pregnancy Checklist

  • 2 to 3 nursing bras
  • 2 to 3 support bras and briefs
  • Maternity wear
  • Night wear
  • Good pregnancy guide book

Your Labour Bag

  • Hospital file and medical reports
  • 2 front – opening night shirts
  • Extra absorbent sanitary towels (night and heavy flow preferably)
  • Lip Balm – after operation you can’t drink anything and your lips dry up badly
  • Disposable briefs
  • Vest and rompers for baby
  • 1 dozen nappies
  • Wet wipes for baby
  • Nursing bra and pads

  • 2 Nursing bras
  • Breast pump

Bottle Feeding

  • Bottle warmer
  • Sterilizing kit
  • Bottles  6 to 8 oz

  • Bibs at least 6
  • 1 baby formula pack

  • Baby gym

Baby clothes

  • 6 to 8 body suits or vests
  • Receiving Blanket 1

    2. baby view mirror? what is that exactly ?where do u use this mirror ?and when?

    • when u drive, you can see what your baby is doing at all times with a glance at your rear view baby mirror which is an extra wide mirror that u can position as per your convinience either on your car dashboard or near the rear view mirror. Very common abroad. It is sometimes a safety regulation.

  5. Very good article….very essential to plan baby’s essentials! Dont forget when u go for your delivery to carry a box of meethai and 2 to 3 bottled water bottles for those who are waiting with u.
